This site showcases what we feel is the many reasons NOT to use HFC-R134a refrigerant in your vehicle. By making available to you the MSDS INFORMATION & TOXICITY REPORTS of govermential tests of chemical refrigerants used in automotive and transportation currently.

HFC-R134a has been used since 1994 in U.S. Production Vehicles.

Dupont holds patient for HFC-R134a.

Dupont held the patent on freon as well. The most widely used refrigerant in the world. The patent was due to expire about the time that it was banned. SEE THE PATTERN HERE !!!!

NOTE: HFC-R134a is repackaged and resold under various names by various distributors.

Mission Statement

1.) FIRST LET US SAY THAT NO REFRIGERANT IS 100% SAFE.
2.) IN OUR OPINION ALL REFRIGERANTS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FLAMMABLE; THIS EVEN MORE SO AFTER MIXED WITH OIL. ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE FOLLOWED.The Auto Ignite rating for HFC-R134a is 1328(F) Degrees. The Auto Ignite rating for Duracool 12a is higher at 1635(F) degrees.
3.) COMBUSTIBILITY SHOULD BE A CONCERN. If you don't know the difference; we recommend that you locate (flammable and combustible) in your dictionary. Some Chemical Refrigerants are combustible and very unstable elements.
4.) PLEASE REVIEW TOXICITY REPORTS & MSDS Sheets on DURACOOL and HFC-R134a refrigerants located within this site.

We market hydrocarbon based refrigerants (DURACOOL) which are some of the most environmentally safe but, but completely misunderstood, alternative refrigerants available on the market.

It is true that hydrocarbons are "flammable" but they are completely safe to use as directed in appropriately designed equipment as an alternative to freon. There is an unfounded fear of hydrocarbons in the industry due to the moniker "flammable" but, think about it, you use flamable products every day. When you get in your car or truck you are using a highly flammable compound to power your vehicle but you never give it a thought because you are using it in a properly designed, appropriate piece of equipment.

Many of the household products that we use every day are also labeled flammable.

News

Hydrocarbons are being embraced worldwide because they are non-ozone depleteing and almost totally non-global warming. Additionally, since hydrocarbons are made entirely from natural, organic products they are completely non-toxic and safe to the installer, material handler and end user. In addition to safety and environmental issues, hydrocarbons have also been proven to add life and performance to refrigeration equipment. Since hydrocarbons are more efficient than CFC and HCFC substances energy savings up to 35% have been recorded in systems using hydrocarbons.

Coolants of the future.

Hydrocarbons are being hailed by many as the coolants of the future. As older CFC refrigerants (Freon) are being eliminated, many governments are now turning their attention to the restriction and eventual phase out of HCFC's such as R134a. HCFC'c have been shown to be Global Warming substances although not as dangerous or destructive as CFC's.
